Pointing you in the right direction
Pointing you in the right direction
‘Awarded’ is an awards consultancy designed purely to maximise your chances of winning. That’s winning awards and recognition in the right places, to help achieve your marketing and business objectives. Whether your goal is to increase sales, target new customers or build brand awareness, Awarded can point you in the right direction.
There are three main ways I can help you.
Working as an extension of your team to create compelling case studies for various marketing needs. And identifying those with award-winning potential.
Developing the right awards strategy for your business, identifying the best award schemes for you and matching up the right projects with the right categories.
Crafting engaging stories to make the judges take notice, as well as managing the submission process from start to finish.
Experience and achievements
Managing Director
I am an experienced marketer within the branding and design industry. Over the past decade, I was responsible for developing the awards strategy to achieve both internal and external business objectives at Elmwood. Directing and overseeing the entry process, I was also responsible for creating and driving the awards calendar, and educating and inspiring the global team to victory. The achievement of which I am most proud is maintaining Elmwood’s top of the league position in the DBA’s Design Effectiveness Awards for ten years running – effectively allowing them to substantiate their positioning of ‘the world’s most effective design consultancy’. Something that was integral to their business success.
You should enter awards
Apart from the celebratory champagne, and the chance to get dressed up and have a night out, there are many tangible benefits of winning awards. And they make good business sense.
Financial
Experience significantly higher sales growth.
Talent

Added value
Important if you’re thinking of selling your business.
Awards won
I’ve been involved in writing and managing many successful entries over the years, ranging from the Food & Beverage Awards (FAB) to the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards. Most notably however in the brand design industry, with gold wins in the Transform Awards in Europe and the Grand Prix in Asia Pacific. And not forgetting 55 DBA Design Effectiveness Awards in the past decade.
A few kind words
From some of the best people in the business.
“Rebecca worked for me for 15 years and is a truly outstanding individual. A rare talent who goes above and beyond with care and diligence and always with a smile on her face.”
Vexillifer, Elmwood
“Rebecca is an exceptional award writer – articulating the effectiveness of design, and compiling it in a compelling way that appeals across a range of award schemes (and case studies). Time and time again I watched her take the bones of a project and worked diligently to craft and lift it to its full potential. Or put it this way; I ran the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards for 5 years, and I go to *her* for advice.”
Founder, Kerning the Gap
“Rebecca has encouraged us to track our projects more rigorously, and with co-operation from our clients, we have submitted far more professional entries into a number of awards. The results have been immediate with Gold and two Silvers at the FAB Awards and three Pentawards shortlists too. Our ROI is measured through reputation, growing awareness, talent retention and attraction, and team motivation. So far all the KPIs are up!
Great job Rebecca! ”
Chief Executive Officer, Bluemarlin
“If you are considering outsourcing award entry writing, look no further than Rebecca. She is a super talented and experienced award writer who really took the time to understand our business, clients and projects. I am looking forward to working with Rebecca again in the future.”
Marketing & Development Director, Cowan
“Effectiveness award entries aren’t easy to write. It takes time to understand the project, to distill and hone in on the key elements and then communicate them accurately and with celebration; knowing how to tell the story and which dials to turn. Doing all that well is a skill that Rebecca has in abundance. Rebecca has been a superstar in helping us with entries for us, and for our clients.”
Managing Director, Ape Creative
“Rebecca is very smart and focused. She takes real ownership and responsibility for projects, really knows her stuff, is super organised and cares passionately about her work. She always has a calm attitude and is a friendly and positive person to work with.”
